The main purpose of the digital certificate is to ensure that the application belongs to the entity to which the certificate was issued. The We-Care.com digital certificate does not guarantee that a signed application is safe to run, but rather informs the user that the software was digitally signed by We-Care.com and verified by a trusted Certificate Authority (CA).
The We-Care Reminder is an affiliate and advertising platform with the intention to 'make it easy to support your favorite nonprofit every time you shop online'. By shopping online with the installed We-Care web browser extension installed, We-Care will collect affiliate dollars by injecting affiliate identifications into the shopping and purchasing experience. We-Care will then send a proceed of the affiliate collection to the branded charity of the web browser extension. We-Care has partnered with a number of very legitimate and well know charities including ASPCA and several Breast Cancer Awareness organizations. Merchants may vary their donation amounts based on the types of items purchased.
For purchases to be eligible for a donation to a Cause, Users must start their shopping sessions at the Site, use the We-Care Software, or click on a link distributed by We-Care.com to arrive at one of our Merchant’s sites. The User must then make a Qualifying Purchase in order for its selected Cause to receive a donation. A “Qualifying Purchase” is a purchase or other activity for which the Merchant pays a commission to We-Care.com. If a User initiates a purchase but completes it during a different web browsing session, clicks on another promotional offer before or after reaching a Merchant’s site, or uses a coupon code from a source other than We-Care.com, the purchase may not be considered a Qualifying Purchase by the Merchant. For each Qualifying Search made by a User, the User’s selected Cause will receive a donation. This amount is estimated to be one cent per search.
