A Shell Open Command allows for an association of a file extension and a program. This association allows an application to be run when the icon or a context menu item is clicked upon in the Windows Explorer window.
Startup files (user) run - wscript.exe is registered with the run identifier 'Protector' and the execution command 'wscript.exe "C:\Documents and Settings\user\Application Data\SDIV 2.0\Prot\prot.vbs" check' in the Windows registry HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run. Run keys are startup registry keys that are used to launch an application automatically when a user logs into Windows.
