sump.exe is the Uniblue SpeedUpMyPC process. This process needs to keep running in the background in order to keep the Speed Tools active. The Speed Tools can be enabled or disabled by going to the 'Manage' tab and turning the switch On or Off for each Speed Tool in the 'Undo changes' section. When any of the Speed Tools is enabled, sump.exe needs to be running in the background so that you can continue taking advantage of the performance gains that are offered by these tools.

Scheduled tasks startup - sump.exe is launched automatically when a user logs into Windows by registering itself into the Windows Task Scheduler under the task name '\SpeedUpMyPC'. With Scheduled Tasks, any script, program, or document can be configured to run when a user logs into the PC. These tasks start every time that Windows is booted and runs in the background.
