Safe for scripting is a Windows policy that disables the Internet Explorer security prompt for Windows Installer scripts. It allows Web-based programs to install software on the computer without notifying the user. This setting suppresses the warning and allows the installation to proceed.

When a program is initialized, it can receive data from another program for initializing its state. This is a potential security hazard because the data could come from an untrusted source. Programs that guarantee no security breach regardless of the data source are considered safe for initialization and are registered as such.
